I don’t love the treadmill. I don’t know many people that do. The thought of 30 minutes going nowhere is not exciting to me. At all. I need scenery, fresh air, some hills…
So as the weather gets colder and outdoor workouts start to dwindle, I try to find ways to challenge myself (and make the time go by faster!)
Find a great playlist and try this indoor hike. It’s not Runyon Canyon but it get your heart rate up, your legs burning and leave you sweaty.
I’m a no excuses kind of person. I need to get my workouts in regardless of what else is going on in my life. Kids are off school, long day at work, traveling…we all have obstacles that prevent us from getting to the gym. That’s why I like to share these quick but effective do anywhere, no equipment needed workouts.
Do these moves in order with little rest in between. Once you complete all of the exercises, rest 1-2 minutes and repeat. Depending on your fitness level and how much energy and time you have, go through the complete circuit 2-4 times. The combination of strength and plyometrics will rev your metabolism and you’ll continue to burn calories long after you’re done (if you’re properly fueling your body!) This is one has been a favorite among clients and friends so give it a try!
I love a good TRX workout. Suspension training brings Pilates into the gym. Balance, flexibility, core strength are easily adaptable to all fitness levels by merely changing the angle of your body or your position relative to the anchor point.
We did this exact workout in class on Wednesday morning and I’m still sore. 2 days later. In all the right places. See for yourself…
